Mr. Allen Lanier, 79, passed away at his residence on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

Mr. Lanier was born on July 17, 1940, in Savannah, Georgia, to Talmadge and Suejutte Lanier. Known as the face of Mossy Oak Music Park, Mr. Lanier was the owner and operator of the park since 2002 and hosted 55 festivals since the park’s opening. He also served for 30 plus years at the United States Postal Service as the Guyton Postmaster and editor for the National League of Postmasters Magazine.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Talmadge and Suejutte Lanier; and daughter, Rebecca Lanier Rose.

Survivors include: his son, Doug Lanier of Guyton; sister, Wanda Garrett of Guyton; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Countryside Baptist Church. A private interment will take place at a later date in the Guyton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mr. Lanier’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 515 Denmark St. Suite 500, Statesboro, GA 30458.
