Alfred Eugene Harn, 85, passed away at his residence in Midway, Georgia on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, after a long illness.
Al lived most of his life in Savannah and moved to Midway in 1988. He attended Commercial High School and later earned his GED in 1967. For many years, Alfred worked as an automotive machinist and then worked for his brother, Frank, laying hardwood floors until his retirement in 2012. His greatest passion in life was riding motorcycles. Although he hadn't rode in many years due to a stroke, he was still the proud owner of a 1400 Ninja Kawasaki that he bought for this 70th birthday.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. Jr. and Ida F. Harn; two brothers, Robert D. "Bobby" Harn, III, and William "Jimmy" Lee Harn, Sr.; and grandson, Weston Kole Hiser.
Alfred leaves behind his children, Allan E. Harn, Sr. (Debbie) of Guyton, April M. Garrett (Doug) of Guyton, Rita R Hiser (Nick) of Cobbtown, and Ashley Harn of Screven; sister, Helen Phillips of Savannah; brother, Frank D. Harn of Evans, GA; and 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Al will be dearly missed by all who loved him, especially his children who have been his caretakers for the last 5 years. Per his request, he will be cremated, and no service will be held because he did not want to inconvenience anyone!
Donations may be made in Al's memory to the American Parkinson Disease Association; P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306
