Alfonso "Papa" Garcia

-Guyton- Mr. Alfonso "Papa" Garcia, Jr., 68, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Optim Medical Center in Tattnall County.

Mr. Garcia was born in Dallas, Texas on April 21, 1949 to Alfonso and Maria Garcia. Alfonso, known to many as Papa, was a fun-loving man that never met a stranger. He loved many and was loved by many. Spending time with his family and watching sports brought much joy to his life.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Alfonso and Maria Garcia; brother, Jesse Garcia; brother-in-law, Joe Walton; grandson, Jonathan Enders; and nephew, Roberto "Robbie" Garcia.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 37 years, Leisa Garcia; sons, Chris Garcia (Amanda) of Guyton, Alfonso Garcia, III of Shreveport, LA, Brandon Peters of Reidsville, and Richard Mark Garcia; daughters, Tifani Vazquez (Juan) of Reidsville and Marlene Enders (Rickey) of Shreveport, LA; faithful four-legged companion, Sugie; brothers, Melchor Garcia (Teresa Jo) of Clyo, Roberto Garcia of Rincon, and Jose Antonio Garcia (Linda) of Bristol, TN; sisters, Inez Walton of Dallas, TX and Anna Lawler (Steve) of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Ashley Clinger (Steve), Avery Enders, Tanikka Peters, Danyelle Peters, Megan Garcia, Adriana Vazquez, Lillyana Vazquez, Avarie Vazquez, Zachery Garcia, and Aiden Garcia; great grandchildren, John Andrew Clinger, Austin Clinger, Gabriel Enders, and Keaton Bryant; sister-in-law, Gloria Garcia of Lewisville, TX; former sister-in-law, Eileen Garcia; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2017, from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, in the chapel of Riggs Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Guyton Cemetery.
